EggSorter

The EggSorter is a cost-effective device that automatically screens, sorts and dispenses small biological entities (from 0.5 to 2 mm). 

The EggSorter, initially developed for zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos, works for multiple models: from zebrafish eggs to Xenopus laevis oocytes and embryos, flower seeds, and many more!

The core of the EggSorter is a rotary wheel that grabs the entities one by one and places them in front of a camera – either bright field imaging or fluorescence.

The picture of each entity is then retrieved on an embedded computer and processed using various algorithms based on Artificial Intelligence.According to the classification, and based on the needs of each project, the entities are dispensed into different output containers.

The EggSorter processes each entity in 2 seconds. With an accuracy of 95%, the EggSorter increases the efficiency of your experiments by more than 35%.

Data management

The EggSorter counts all the entities processed, associates the picture to the position in the output container, and gives you the expression ratios.

Thanks to our AI-powered system, the classification algorithms can be adjusted to your project needs, whether you are looking for a specific bio-marker or morphological feature.

Total control, intuitive, and fast to set up

The EggSorter is controlled via an Android app, that is easy to configure. The App runs on an embedded computer which the user can interact with via a touchscreen. Larger screens can be plugged into the device, so that the entity picture can be projected on a high-definition screen.

The Android embedded app provides total control of the device and access to reports and data in an intuitive way to use and set up. It takes less than 2 hours to learn how to use it and less than 10 minutes to have the device ready to run your experiments.

Choose based on your preferred classification which output containers you will use – Falcon tubes, Petri dishes or Multiwell plates – as well as the entities per tube, dish or well. Choose also the volume of medium to be dispensed per entity.

Flexibility for all your projects

Fluorescence

The fluorescence add-on contains up to 6 wavelength filters granting a new level of flexibility when planning your experiments. By choosing a specific size and intensity of the biomarked area, you are empowered to sort the double positives, single positives, and non-fluorescent entities.

Second camera

Some entities are opaque or just need a second image: that is no reason to stop you from automating your sorting, because we give you the possibility of having a second camera that allows for two images, from two angles of the same sample.

Reflected light system

The EggSorter second illumination system allows to image your opaque entities with reflected light to give you more visibility

Compound dispenser

We know that adding a compound to your samples is time consuming, so we decided to give you a hand, or better yet, a second dispenser, that allows you to accurately and precisely add solutions to each of your samples and accelerate your toxicity testing.
